About Crime Review

If you're a crime fiction fan looking for well-written, thoughtful and honest reviews, you're in the right place! Our manifesto is simple: we're an independent site whose reviewers love the genre passionately and who have been given a free rein to review honestly and constructively.

Crime Review is devoted to releases from UK publishers. We'll be bringing you 20 new reviews and an author interview every fortnight. And we've got a team of up to 15 reviewers from a variety of different backgrounds.

The site is edited by experienced reviewers Linda Wilson and Sharon Wheeler. Both had a very long association with the popular and well-established Reviewing the Evidence site (www.reviewingtheevidence.com). Linda, a writer and retired solicitor, is the former UK editor, and Sharon, a journalist and lecturer, is the former managing editor.

Reviewing the Evidence, which was set up in 2001 by Barbara Franchi to address the lack of mystery review websites at the time, is now edited by writer and translator Yvonne Klein. Check out the site, which updates fortnightly – there are nearly 10,000 reviews archived over there.

Crime Review deals with crime fiction, thrillers, historicals and selected urban fantasy, science fiction and horror. And we are also very happy to review Young Adult books in any of these genres.

Publishers or authors wishing to submit books for review should contact the editors. Please note that we do not review self-published books or ebook only releases. We are also unable to consider unbound galleys, print on demand titles or PDF files. We never guarantee that a review will appear – or that it will be glowing! And the editors' decision is final – we will not enter into correspondence over non-acceptance of a book or the wording of a review.

Please also note that we don't participate in blog tours. We are set up as a review website, not a blog, and have no facility for hosting blog tours as we prefer to concentrate on our core business of reviews.

In the event of a query about eligibility for review, please contact Linda Wilson on lindawilson@crimereview.co.uk.
